I am a microbiologist with extensive experience in vaccine and antivenom production, currently serving as a Senior Scientific Officer and faculty member at the National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad. My professional focus includes biomanufacturing, venom proteomics, and molecular diagnostics, with strong hands-on expertise in managing, maintaining, and training on specialized equipment used in industrial, scientific, and medical laboratories.

I have in-depth experience in operating and troubleshooting a broad range of equipment including high-performance liquid chromatography systems, mass spectrometry platforms, SDS-PAGE and Western blotting systems, ELISA readers, spectrophotometers, centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, incubators, anaerobic workstations, cold chain units, and clean room-grade processing equipment. I am proficient in the use of tangential flow filtration systems, lyophilizers, bioreactors, fermenters, and sterile filtration assemblies. In the domain of vaccine fill-finish operations, I have worked with vial washing, filling, capping, labeling, and sealing machines as part of GMP-compliant production environments.

I played a leading role in Pakistan’s COVID-19 vaccine production efforts, where I supervised equipment installation, process optimization, and validation of fill-finish lines, contributing to the production of over 20 million doses. I have also led initiatives in the development of Pakistan’s first region-specific antivenom for Sindh Krait, establishing workflows from venom collection and plasma immunization to downstream processing and final product formulation.

My responsibilities include drafting and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs), developing equipment maintenance logs, and conducting root cause analysis for system failures. I have conducted training sessions and developed instructional materials for technical staff and postgraduate students, with an emphasis on quality assurance and compliance.

I am a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025, with strong command over quality management systems, laboratory accreditation requirements, and internal audit procedures. I have completed multiple specialized courses from the NIBRT Online Academy through the World Health Organization (WHO), covering key areas such as vaccine production, cleanroom operations, aseptic processing, molecular biology, and quality control in biomanufacturing.

My dual role in scientific research and technical training has enabled me to contribute meaningfully to national health programs, infrastructure development, and local capacity building in the biological sciences and public health manufacturing sectors.
