Associate Professor, Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering & Information Technology (KFUEIT), Rahi
16 years of experience
I am an expert in Computational Materials Science as well as Quantum Optics, with a strong academic and practical background in both disciplines. My expertise lies in understanding the electronic, structural, and optical properties of materials using advanced computational techniques, along with the theoretical and numerical analysis of light–matter interaction at the quantum level.
In the domain of Computational Materials Science, I have developed significant proficiency in using various first-principles simulation tools, particularly WIEN2k, which is based on Density Functional Theory (DFT). My experience includes modeling materials at the atomic level to investigate their thermodynamic, electronic, and magnetic behaviors. I am skilled in performing band structure calculations, density of states analysis, and evaluating optical spectra, which are crucial for understanding the potential applications of novel materials in electronic and optoelectronic devices.
I have hands-on training in several computational software packages used for materials modeling and quantum simulations. These include WIEN2k, Quantum ESPRESSO, among others.
Alongside my computational skills, I am highly proficient in technical and scientific writing. I have extensive experience using LaTeX, the standard typesetting system for scientific documents. LaTeX allows me to prepare professional-quality manuscripts, reports, and presentations that adhere to academic and publication standards. Whether drafting research papers, project proposals, or theses, I ensure that the content is well-structured, technically accurate, and properly formatted.
My background in Quantum Optics complements my expertise in materials science, allowing me to investigate how quantum phenomena such as coherence, entanglement, and photon-matter interactions can be used in the design of advanced photonic materials and quantum devices. I have studied the quantum behavior of light and its interaction with various materials, which plays a crucial role in the development of technologies like quantum communication, sensors, and lasers.
Throughout my academic and research career, I have participated in workshops, training sessions, and collaborative projects that have enhanced my theoretical foundation and practical capabilities. I stay updated with recent advancements in the field through continuous learning, literature reviews, and interaction with the scientific community.
