About

I have had the privilege of serving as an invited speaker and guest lecturer at several prestigious universities across Southeast Asia, including Mae Fah Luang University in Thailand, UCSI University in Malaysia, and Universitas Andalas in Indonesia. These opportunities have allowed me to share my expertise in areas related to food science, green extraction technologies, and applied research in natural products, while engaging with a wide range of academic audiences including undergraduates, postgraduates, and faculty members.

At Mae Fah Luang University, a leading institution in northern Thailand known for its strength in natural product research, I delivered lectures focused on supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) for herbal and botanical applications. My sessions highlighted the practical and industrial relevance of these advanced extraction techniques, particularly in the development of high-value phytochemicals for the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries. I also shared case studies and laboratory experiences to illustrate the real-world application of green extraction methods in research and commercial product development.

At UCSI University, Malaysia, I was invited to speak as part of a special seminar series on innovation in food and health sciences. My lecture titled "Green Technologies in Herbal Extraction: From Lab to Industry" explored the transition of academic research to industrial application, emphasizing sustainability, regulatory compliance, and product standardization. The session was well-attended by students and researchers from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Faculty of Applied Sciences. I also participated in a panel discussion addressing future career pathways and research trends in food technology and biotechnology.

Meanwhile, at Universitas Andalas in Padang, Indonesia, I delivered a series of lectures and hands-on workshops on natural product extraction, bioassay-guided fractionation, and the importance of phytochemical standardization. These engagements were conducted in collaboration with the university's Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Agricultural Technology. My lectures focused on the challenges and innovations in working with tropical plant materials, and I provided guidance to postgraduate students working on herbal drug development and functional food formulation.

These academic engagements have strengthened my ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences, including those with varying levels of technical background. I have also benefited greatly from the cross-cultural academic exchange, gaining insights into regional research priorities, indigenous medicinal plant usage, and collaborative opportunities in ASEAN’s growing herbal and functional food sectors.

Beyond formal lectures, my invited speaker roles have also included mentoring student researchers, participating in research colloquiums, and contributing to discussions on curriculum development related to green extraction technologies and sustainable food systems. Each of these experiences has enriched my academic and professional journey, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of science education and to build lasting academic networks across borders.

Through these speaking opportunities, I continue to advocate for science-based innovation, sustainability in extraction and processing technologies, and regional cooperation in research and development, especially in the context of unlocking the potential of natural resources through responsible and modern scientific approaches.

Training Capabilities

I specialize in the application and optimization of Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE) and Pressurized Liquid Extraction (PLE) for the efficient, sustainable, and selective extraction of bioactive compounds from herbs and plant-based materials. My expertise lies in:

Process Optimization: Tailoring extraction parameters (pressure, temperature, solvent/co-solvent selection, time) to maximize the yield and purity of target phytochemicals such as polyphenols, alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenes, and essential oils.

Green Solvent Systems: Proficient in using environmentally friendly solvents (e.g., supercritical CO₂ and ethanol) that comply with clean-label and food/pharmaceutical-grade standards.

Comparative Evaluation: Experience in comparative analysis of SFE and PLE techniques against conventional solvent extraction (e.g., Soxhlet, maceration) for process intensification and sustainability assessment.

Analytical Profiling: Integration with advanced analytical tools (e.g., GC-MS, ) to characterize extracted compounds and validate quality and bioactivity.

Application Fields: Targeted extraction for nutraceuticals, functional foods, cosmeceuticals, and herbal pharmaceutical formulations.

This area of specialization supports the advancement of green extraction technologies and contributes to the valorization of plant-based resources in compliance with modern standards of sustainability, safety, and efficacy.
