Name: Prof. Dr. Rafid Maalak Hanoun Rikan Al-Saleh Al-Fahdawi. Born December 25, 1970, in Al-Fahoud, Dhi Qar, Iraq. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Baghdad in 1993, his Master's degree in Renewable Energy and Solar Energy Engineering from the University of Technology, Baghdad in 2005, and his PhD in Energy and Thermal Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Basra, with the majority of his dissertation completed at Cardiff University, Wales, UK in 2009. He is a faculty member at the College of Engineering, University of Dhi Qar. He holds six patents and has published 64 scientific papers in journals both within and outside Iraq. He has held several positions, including: Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Dhi Qar; Assistant Dean of the College of Engineering, University of Dhi Qar; Director of the Multidisciplinary Consulting Office, University of Dhi Qar; member of a ministerial committee for energy sustainability and another for renewable energy; and consultant to UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) for various projects. He has supervised 23 postgraduate students both within and outside Iraq. Author of two books: *Fundamentals of Solar Energy* and *Fundamentals of Renewable Energy*. Head of the Scientific Promotions Committee at the College of Engineering. Head of the Scientific Committee for the Second International College of Engineering Conference. 31 years of service. He was awarded the rank of Professor within the minimum required period on January 17, 2018, and also the rank of Associate Professor. He completed his Master's and Doctoral degrees within the minimum required period. He contributed to securing three Memoranda of Understanding with different international universities.
