About

I am an Associate Professor of Microbiology at Government College University, Faisalabad, with extensive experience in clinical and diagnostic microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory management. Over the past decade, I have gained comprehensive expertise in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and training others on a wide range of scientific and diagnostic instruments used in medical and research laboratories.
My hands-on experience includes the installation, calibration, and routine maintenance of molecular diagnostic systems such as conventional PCR, Real-Time PCR, gel electrophoresis and gel documentation systems, and Nanodrop spectrophotometers. I have trained numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students in nucleic acid extraction, amplification, and analysis, ensuring the reliable performance and validation of these systems for routine and research applications.
In the field of automated microbiology, I have substantial experience working with bacterial identification and antimicrobial susceptibility systems such as VITEK 2 Compact, API20E, and MALDI-TOF MS. I have supervised their routine calibration, quality control, and troubleshooting processes, particularly in clinical diagnostic and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance projects.
In serological and biochemical diagnostics, I am proficient in the operation and maintenance of ELISA readers/washers, UV-Visible spectrophotometers, and automated biochemical analyzers. I have also developed laboratory protocols and training manuals for routine use of biosafety cabinets (Class II), CO₂ incubators, autoclaves, and refrigerated centrifuges, focusing on safe handling, periodic preventive maintenance, and calibration.
I have led several capacity-building workshops for students and laboratory professionals on biosafety, equipment maintenance, and molecular diagnostic techniques. . I have also contributed to the preparation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation to improve laboratory efficiency and compliance with quality assurance standards.
In summary, my professional experience combines technical proficiency, hands-on laboratory management, and academic leadership. I take pride in fostering a culture of technical excellence, precision, and safety in diagnostic laboratories, while continuously updating my knowledge of evolving technologies in molecular and clinical microbiology.
