Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Eddie Tan is a distinguished scholar specializing in Food Processing, renowned for his outstanding academic journey and substantial contributions to research and education. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Skudai, followed by a Ph.D. from The University of Queensland, Australia, in 2016.
Currently serving as the Head of Alliance of Research and Innovation for Food (ARIF) at Universiti Teknologi MARA Negeri Sembilan (UiTMCNS), Dr. Tan has also held the position of Head of Study Centre for Industrial Technology and the inaugural Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Food Science & Technology at UiTMCNS. He is the visionary founder and head of the first Special Interest Group (SIG) - Alliance of Research & Innovation for Food (ARIF) at UiTMCNS. Additionally, he is a founder of the Bachelor of Food Science and Technology Association (B-FoST) in UiTMCNS, dedicated to nurturing students' leadership and soft skills.
In recognition of his expertise, the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) appointed him as an accreditation panel in 2020, highlighting his significant influence in shaping educational standards. He has been appointed as the External Examiner for several academic programmes at other institutions.
Dr. Tan's research primarily focuses on the Nutritional and Safety Aspects of Food Processing, resulting in numerous research grants from the Ministry of Higher Education, universities, and industry. His scholarly efforts have led to the publication of fifteen (15) Q1 and Q2 research papers, reflecting the high impact and quality of his work with a current Clarivate H-index of 9. Committed to fostering academic excellence, his passion for teaching and research has garnered him several prestigious recognitions and awards throughout his illustrious career.
