Over 33 years of academic and professional experience, specializing in image analysis, pattern recognition, and machine learning algorithm development. My research and teaching mainly in the domains of signal processing, artificial intelligence, and the development of predictive models for applications in automation, biomedical engineering, and forensic analysis.

Led numerous projects involving AI-based solutions, including deep learning frameworks for image classification, object detection, and behavioral analysis. My work includes the development of anomaly detection algorithms for gait analysis in children with autism, post-mortem face identification using hierarchical convolutional neural networks (CNN), and AI-driven surveillance systems for security applications.

Principal Investigator (PI) for various national research grants, focusing on the development of machine learning models tailored to real-world applications.

Professional certifications as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET, UK) and a Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE), actively contributing to various IEEE societies including the Control Systems Society and Industrial Applications Society. I also serve as a Technical Assessor for the Department of Standards Malaysia, focusing on the evaluation of laboratory practices and compliance with analytical and measurement standards.

Leadership roles include serving as Director of the Research Nexus UiTM (ReNeU) and the Research Innovation Business Unit (RIBU), Tech Transfer Office of UiTM and have developed the commercialization and IP Policy of the university, as well as the start-up and spin-off company of UiTM.

Development of advanced signal and image processing algorithms, machine learning models, and AI-driven analytics frameworks that process and interpret data generated by such systems. Specialize in designing predictive models and intelligent systems that interface with data acquisition devices in biomedical diagnostics, and surveillance applications.

Developed machine learning algorithms for applications such as gait analysis using motion capture systems, hydroponic system monitoring via sensor networks, medical image classification for diabetic retinopathy detection, and AI-based security surveillance using video data streams. My work often involves integrating software models with data from sensors, imaging devices, and industrial monitoring platforms.
